For the sixth year in a row, seminars on expert control have been held at the Technical Academy in Obninsk, organized by the Department of International Cooperation of the Rosatom State Corporation. The main topic of the 2019 seminar, held on May 21-23, is modern challenges and ways to develop the system of state control over the export of goods.
The discussion took place over three days. Presentations were made by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control, the Federal Customs Service, the Innovation Management Unit, the Department for the Protection of State Secrets and Information and other structural divisions of Rosatom.
Marina Belyaeva, Director of the International Activities Department of Rosatom, also took part in the seminar: "Today's meeting should be a working meeting of industry exporters who came not only to learn the news, but also to evaluate their work. We have always built our seminars from the point of view of Russia's international obligations, focusing on intellectual property issues when exporting. But it must be borne in mind that the export control system in Russia has been more than 25 years old. Its legislative base was formed after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Practice shows that a number of points are beginning to get out of themselves, procedural problems have accumulated, which need to be approached in a meaningful way. What do international obligations mean for a particular exporter, how should they be understood, what consequences do they have? It is important to discuss controversial issues and hear an active response from the participants of the seminar."
