04
What is attractive for you to work in the North?
The North is my homeland. I have been living in Murmansk since birth, but I didn't know until 2016 that the base of the Russian nuclear icebreaker fleet is located 2 kilometers from the city. Today it is a big part of my life, and I am proud that I know and work in the same team with the sailors of Atomflot. They say that people with big warm hearts live and work in our North. It's true. And my job is to tell the world about them, to establish a dialogue within the team and not let this fire go out.
05
What pain points of your city or region as a whole could you highlight?
Our region is beautiful, but very harsh. It is difficult to live here and, moreover, to work, so many Murmansk residents are forced to leave their native land. The outflow of the population, specialists and youth, their replacement by shift workers who do not take care of the North, is the main sore point of the region, which is exposed by statistics.
06
What suggestions could you give regarding the further development of your city or region?
Increasing the attractiveness of the region for living through real investments in the social sphere. We should learn more from the experience of conducting infrastructural and economic activities from our Scandinavian neighbors.
07
Three main reasons to visit the North?
People. Nature. Nuclear-powered ships.
08
What kind of parting words would you give to the younger generation living in the northern territories and facing the choice of a future profession?
The Barents Arctic region is a unique place! No region of Russia is so close to European countries. It is, in fact, a place without borders and a northern point of attraction. Take a look around and take advantage of it. The world is striving for the Arctic, and you are already here!
