The project of the Eurasian Women's Forum under the Federation Council of the Russian Federation "Women in the nuclear industry: a vector of development"
In the new economic environment, the rapid development of domestic technologies, increasing the level of innovation activity of citizens and training highly qualified specialists to ensure the scientific and technological development of the country in order to strengthen technological sovereignty are of particular importance.
This opens up new opportunities for unlocking the potential of women in high-tech and knowledge-intensive industries. In Russia, women make up a significant proportion of highly qualified scientific personnel.
At the same time, in many industries women's intellectual potential is not fully utilized. The National Action Strategy for Women for 2023-2030 identifies increasing women's participation in high-tech industries and popularizing engineering and technical professions among girls and women as an important focus for enhancing the role of women in the socio-economic development of our country.
According to studies, women are not sufficiently integrated into the labour market associated with the new technological pattern. Increasing the role of women in the scientific sphere, involving them in the field of high technology and innovation, retraining specialists to meet the new requirements of the economy, and implementing human resource strategies in organizations, especially in the high-tech sector, is one of the ways of addressing this challenge.
Women have significant potential for breakthroughs in the high-tech sector and are able to offer unconventional solutions and creativity. Building international and cross-industry collaboration of professionals will help harmonize the imbalance in high-tech industries, and collaboration will bring together best practices and create a sustainable ecosystem to increase the number of female employees in technology companies.
