"Indeed, the "first wave" of participants of the Association of Women of the Nuclear industry gathered active, energetic and passionate about their profession girls from different territories of the presence of organizations in the industry. And today they are united by one thing – the desire to work and develop their enterprises and cities. Issues of the "women's agenda" are raised at events of various levels. It is difficult to overestimate the positive role that women play in the global socio-economic process. For our country, the active participation of women in business and in the development of the economy is also of great importance. Today, women work in a variety of industries, including achieving success in nuclear energy. One of the UN Sustainable Development Goals is to eliminate gender inequality. According to the IAEA, the gender bias persists in the industry: women account for only 22.4% in the nuclear sector. To solve this problem, much attention is paid to the training of professional personnel and the broad involvement of women in the nuclear industry, and many countries set such a task at the strategic level. Women are interested in getting an education, a professional career, and success in "their" business. This trend is positive for the development of the industry: professionally educated, active, socially active women are the most valuable capital and a powerful resource for the development of nuclear energy. "
Natalia Davydova, a member of the Public Council of the Rosatom State Corporation, Director of the Institute for Consulting Environmental Projects, head of the Russian National Junior Water Competition, member of the National Committee of the Russian Federation for the UNESCO International Hydrological Program, also addressed the participants – "Let me, on behalf of the Public Council of the Rosatom State Corporation, welcome you who have come from nuclear regions and represent a variety of groups local communities. Sustainable Development Goals defined by; The United Nations, and, at first glance, seem to be an attempt to formulate answers to global challenges, upon closer examination become tasks that we solve every day at our own level. Are we not striving and making efforts to achieve good health and well-being, to get a quality education for ourselves and children? We want to use clean water and clean energy, live in comfortable cities and towns, get a decent salary and fair justice. But are we ready to be responsible consumers in order to make our personal contribution to the preservation of terrestrial ecosystems and the fight against climate change? Are we ready to express our public position and form local partnerships for the sustainable development of our cities and towns?...".
In his welcoming speech, Mikhail Kizeev, the chief physician of the Reshma MC of the FMBA of Russia, noted that women are distinguished by a caring approach to all emerging problems and a careful attitude to what surrounds them – both at work and in the family. Women are able to see all shades and be as involved and result-oriented as possible when solving certain tasks.
