The questionnaire
01
Place of work and position. What is your main activity?
FSUE Atomflot, radiation safety engineer of a nuclear icebreaker. My responsibilities include maintaining the water-chemical regime and monitoring the normalized parameters of the technological circuits of the icebreaker reactor plant.
03
Tell us about your professional path or personal successes and achievements.
Even while studying at the university, I caught fire with the Arctic. In 2012, we were invited to participate in the Arctic Floating University project, which took place on the research vessel Professor Molchanov. I agreed without a doubt. That's how I visited the Arctic for the first time. Then I didn't even think that I would connect my life with the Arctic. And now I have been working at FSUE Atomflot for 4 years.
04
What is attractive for you to work in the North?
In fact, the crew of nuclear icebreakers is engaged in the direct operation of the vessel and its maintenance. Without a crew, icebreakers would not have plowed the Arctic. And together with nuclear icebreakers, we are doing a great job for the country - developing the Northern Sea Route, a route with a great history and potential.
05
What pain points of your city or region as a whole could you highlight?
Unsettledness is one of the most basic pain points of my hometown. These are roads, old wooden houses in disrepair, degradation of production. As a result, the outflow of population from the city and the region to other regions.
06
What suggestions could you give regarding the further development of your city or region?
- construction of new housing for the resettlement of citizens living in buildings with the status of emergency housing;
- demolition of emergency and abandoned buildings;
- construction and arrangement of new parks and recreational areas;
- attracting investors for the design and construction of new production facilities or the restoration of old ones.
07
Three main reasons to visit the North?
- extraordinary natural beauty;
- the opportunity to see the northern lights;
- the kindest and most wonderful people.
08
What kind of parting words would you give to the younger generation living in the northern territories and facing the choice of a future profession?
Always listen to your heart and don't be afraid of anything, you will succeed!
