"Women in the Nuclear Industry: a vector of development" is a new project within the framework of the Eurasian Women's Forum under the Federation Council of the Russian Federation

On December 16, a meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Women's Forum was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Galina Karelova.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the results of the activities of the EZHF Council for 2919 and plans for 2020, and also approved new projects aimed at increasing the role of women in the socio-economic development of the country.

"2019 has become a year of dynamic development of projects and initiatives in the interests of women. The development of the women's agenda is given attention in national and federal projects, significant projects of the Eurasian Women's Forum have been launched," the Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council said, opening the meeting.

Galina Karelova paid special attention to the effectiveness of the development of project cooperation with international organizations and associations, namely UNIDO, APEC, BRICS, the Women's Twenty. The initiative to create the BRICS Women's Business Alliance, supported by the Council, has been adopted.

Angelika Khaperskaya, co-founder of the Nuclear Industry Women's Association Foundation, presented the Women in the Nuclear Industry project, noting that the dynamic development of the global nuclear industry and new generation nuclear technologies stimulates the need for training highly qualified specialists and wider involvement of women in the industry.

The objectives of the project were:
1. Formation within Russia of a professional branch women's community and business cooperation in the nuclear industry for the implementation of socially useful goals for the benefit of society and the development of the nuclear industry. 2. Creation of tools to stimulate the professional development of women and the broad involvement of the younger generation in order to attract the share of women in the nuclear sector. 3. Popularization of scientific and technical professions among women and promotion of the prestige of women's professions in the nuclear industry in the context of sustainable Development Goals.
4. Development of international cooperation of women in the field of peaceful use of atomic energy.
5. By the decision of the Council meeting, the Project was approved and included in the EZHF Project Portfolio.
