Galina Karelova, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Council of the Eurasian Women's Forum under the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, noting that the conference is an effective communication platform for the exchange of experience and successful practices. "The attention to the topic of expanding women's participation in corporate governance, inclusiveness in solving personnel issues in the conference program testifies to the importance and relevance of the work to support women's initiatives carried out by the Council of the Eurasian Women's Forum in cooperation with the Foundation "Association of Women of the Nuclear Industry", - said Galina Karelova.
Tatiana Terentyeva, Deputy Director General for Human Resources of Rosatom State Corporation, highly appreciated the activities of the Rosatom women's industry community, fruitful work on building intersectoral and international cooperation that promotes cooperation and exchange of experience. The projects of Uniting women of the nuclear industry in solving global problems of sustainable development, involving girls and women in STEM professions and community work on the sidelines of the Eurasian Women's Forum were separately noted. It is especially valuable, according to Tatiana Anatolyevna, that the Association implements projects in cooperation with the main strategic partners of Rosatom.
"Rosatom State Corporation has an impact on the achievement of all sustainable development goals, including paying special attention to ensuring gender balance, the 5th Sustainable Development Goal. This year, together with the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), a working group conducted the first international study on the state of gender balance in the nuclear industry. For Rosatom, conducting this kind of research is a big step to increase the transparency of the company and an open dialogue regarding gender equality," Tatyana Terentyeva said.
«The Arctic agenda is particularly attractive for us now. And the Association of Women in the nuclear industry this year began the implementation of a large-scale project "Women in the Arctic", which is recognized to unite representatives of the northern territories. I am sure that the agenda needs to be developed through new projects and discussions," concluded Tatiana Terentyeva.
