The competition of environmental projects of women in the BRICS countries “Green Future”, initiated at the IV Eurasian Women's Forum with the support of Rosatom State Corporation, continues!
At the moment:
• More than 700 applications from 10 countries have been submitted, 60% are from foreign participants;
• Participants include environmentalists, scientists, entrepreneurs, project managers and activists.
The most popular nominations:
• “Ecological Culture” – 247 applications (167 from Russia);
• “GreenTech” – 154 applications (Russia, India, South Africa);
• “Green Corporations” –129 applications (Russia, India).
International cooperation:
15 companies and organizations have already joined the initiative, including BRICS Institute India, BRICS CCI WE, She Capital, as well as Russia’s largest companies Sibur, Rusal and Rossotrudnichestvo.
What’s next?
• The call for applications will continue until February 28, 2025;
• The award ceremony will take place in May;
• Work is ongoing to support and accelerate promising projects, including business missions, exchange of experience and implementation of best environmental practices.
Sociological research:
• Based on the results of a survey of 1600 Russians:
• 48% are aware of joint environmental initiatives of the BRICS countries;
• 36% note the positive results of cooperation;
• The majority are confident that the environmental situation will improve in the next 5-10 years.
